They hold down manila paper for final production patterns. They're also smaller than industrial pattern weights. I couldn't decide which color to purchase so I bought both the black and white sets in their cases. A very genius and useful sewing tool when cutting out patterns. They're a good weight to hold down pattern pieces and the fabric without any shifting. The pointed ends are great for those corner parts of the patterns and are not sharp. I would highly recommend buying these. Get the protective cases too!
